Chiquita: Now Hiring!

A little less than a month ago, Chiquita Brands International - home of the famous Chiquita banana - signed its lease for six floors of office space at NASCAR Plaza in uptown Charlotte.

It's an exciting step in the ongoing preparations for the Fortune 500 giant to move its headquarters from Cincinnati, OH, to right here in Charlotte, NC. The expected move-in date is this September.

Hundreds of Chiquita employees are relocating to Charlotte along with the company, but not all of them. To fill the remaining positions, Chiquita has put out a call for applicants.

If you are looking for a job in Charlotte NC, then check out Chiquita! Currently, they are hiring positions in Sales and Marketing, Finance, IT, and Human Resources - to name but a few. Currently, there are still approximately 70+ positions open, so if you're looking for a stable job at a huge company with a proven track record, definitey look into Chiquita jobs.

The Chiquita relocation to Charlotte NC creates approximately 400 jobs, around half of which were anticipated to be filled by Chiquita employees relocating to Charlotte. The remaining jobs - including the ones actively listed on the Chiquita jobs website - are available for Charlotte residents or others willing to relocate to Charlotte to work for Chiquita.

Chiquita decided to make the move to Charlotte several months ago in response to its growing demand for easier international access, among other things. Charlotte won the bid for Chiquita mainly because of its strong international airport as well as its state and local incentive pacakge, totaling approximately $24 million. Part of the deal with the hefty incentive package is that Chiquita is expected to create Charlotte jobs, so in addition to the ones being filled now, you can expect to see new employment opportunities down the road, when Chiquita is settled here in Charlotte.
