In response to the remarkable growth in the Harrisburg NC market, Northeast Medical Center announced today that they will be opening a new facility on Rocky River Road.  It will include 24-hour emergency care, a women's center, possibly surgery, doctor's offices, etc.  This is very exciting news as the Harrisburg area grows!   Over time the facility will hopefully include beds, and we need all Harrisburg residents to send letters to the state authorities to help obtain the Certificate of Need.

This was announced tonight at the function supporting the Jeff Gordon Children's Hospital at Northeast Medical Center which is scheduled to open in December 2006.  We are at 60% of the funding goal and hoping to make some more progress before the facility opens.  We'll be excited to have specialists in every field of pediatrics.  28 rooms that include parent space in suite-style.  Nurse stations every 2 rooms.  Child life specialists staffing the playroom.  A focus on child abuse recognition and intervention. Children's ER.  Talk about state of the art!  Northeast is the only Charlotte region hospital to rank in the Top 100 Hospitals for the past few years running-and they continue to build on that reputation.
